Field-n-Feather is an 11 acre slice of North Texas where we Keys call home. The name Field-n-Feather stems from our lives and our family activities - dogs and birds. |

Key's Evolution Patriot (aka Patriot) was the first of our bird dogs. The rip-rap English Pointer was a wedding present for my husband. Having no room to train and work him, his official training started in 2008. He competed in his first walking Field Trial in March 2009, and his first Hunt Test at the April 2009 Spinoni National Specialty. He earned two legs toward his Junior Hunt title and is currently sharpening his skills to complete his last two legs. |
| Our second bird dog and first Spinone, Quietwood Gunsmoke (aka Lucius), was obtained after the tragic loss of our Great Pyrenees, Regard, and one month prior to our son being born. The fuzzy faced puppy fit right in to our family and is the foundation sire of Gunsmoke Spinoni. He finished his Junior Hunt title and took Reserve Winners Dog at the 2009 Spinoni National Specialty. After returning home, he took a Group 4 placement and finished his conformation championship at his next dog show. He also was awarded a Group 2 at the 2009 Lubbock dog show. He was working on his Senior Hunt title when he showed at the Eukanuba Championship in December 2009. Due to unknown causes, we tragically lost this baby Memorial Day 2010. May he find peace, love, lots of birds, and have an endless supply of pink floppy flamingoes in Heaven until we see him again. |

The Brier Creek twins arrived in January 2009. Brier Creek's Drea the Gunsmoke Diva (aka Drea) and Brier Creek's Dynoche Know Gunsmoke (Dyno) are two aspiring Field-n-Feather kids. They are both in training for their Junior Hunt titles and started showing in May. Although both did exceptionally well for their first show, Dyno took Reserve Winners Dog the second day and was awarded Best of Breed two of the three days at the 2009 Oklahoma City show, as well as being awarded Best Puppy Spinone. He picked up his final Major to finish his Championship title at the Fort Worth show in March 2010. Their next big show is Dallas, July 9-11 at Market Hall where Dyno will be specialed. |
| Elhew Stagecoach Lady (aka Di), was added at the 2009 Spinoni National Specialty. Becky Koch from Mountain Valley Spinoni blessed us with favor and picked Di up on her way through Nebraska. A lovely orange and white English Pointer female, she brings royal bloodlines to Camloch Pointers. We were blessed with our first Camloch litter of beatiful Patriot and Di pups on July 4th. |

And introducing the last of our kids, Camloch Whistlin Dixie (aka Dixie), is the orange/white female that we'll be keeping out of the July 2009 litter. She possesses the bird savvy of a natural and the hunting desire of a lion. We're already working with her in the field and hope to enter her in her first trial in the fall of 2010. We're expecting great things from her! |

With all these bird dogs in training, we needed birds to train them. Game birds are in short supply at the current time, so we started raising our own. We currently have an incubator building, one completed flight pen and one under construction, two smaller grow-out pens, with many other buildings in the works. 1200 eggs will be placed in the incubator in a few weeks for hatch. Currently we have Bobwhite Quail and Tennessee Red Quail that we are using to train dogs with. We also use Homer Pigeons to introduce new commands and concepts, due to the cheaper price and higher availability. Our friend and dog trainer, Frank Delmont, offers plenty of advice, training, and supplies pigeons when needed. We supply the ground to work dogs. |

Thus the name Field-n-Feather's. As we look out our living room window, we can see an array of bird dogs lounging on the back patio and in the sun in the backyard. If we step outside, the infamous bob-white call of quail can be heard from anywhere on our place. In the Texas twilight hours, there's nothing better than to sit at the picnic table watching the dogs and the toddler play in the last remaining minutes of sunlight as the sound of game birds float innocently through the warm air to surround us in nature's symphony. |
