With the help of our friend and trainer, Frank Delmont, we personally train all of our dogs here at Field-n-Feather. We have about 9 acres here, another 200 acres at our lease, and a few connections we're working on to add different training grounds to our reportoire.
We currently have 5 dogs of our own - 2 Spinone and 3 English Pointers - in training. We haven't started really "training" Dixie yet, due to her age. Push a puppy too hard, and they will lose interest in a heartbeat. However, we are planning to enter her in her first Field Trial the fall of 2010.
We hope to start building a true kennel this fall in order to offer other people our services at Field-n-Feather on a monthly basis. In the meantime, however, we do offer day training services at our facility. If you're looking to start your dog in the field, brush up on a few things, or want just need to get away for a day with your hunting companion, this is for you. We offer Saturday and/or Sunday trainings by appointment only. We charge $25 per session per dog plus the cost of birds. Contact us to make an appointment.
